There may be swellings, wrinkles, and a wizened appearance in both the upper and the lower eyelids because of genetics, excessive use of mimics, fatigue, stress, sleeplessness, or advanced age. Skin folds in the upper eyelid may cause visual problems. In this case, even the person is well cared, she will look tired, unhappy, depressed and even older. To get rid of these unwanted facial expressions and to render the look a vivid appearance, eyelid aesthetic operations are performed. After the operation, the patient can perform her eye makeup easily and reveal the beauty of her eyes. In the eyelid aesthetic operations, the shape of the eye also can be changed to have a more impressive look, if necessary.

The herniated fat pockets are removed, loosened periocular muscles are repaired, and the skin excess is removed through an incision (Figure: Yellow line) made in the line between the lower eyelid and eyelashes or inside the lower eyelid. Besides, fat injections may render a more aesthetic appearance in some patients with hollow periocular areas. In the upper eyelid aesthetic, the incision is made right on the fold that the lid makes on itself.
